EXHIBIT: "Chill Out"  |  An all-media show judged by Jan-Willem Boer

The Lynchburg Art Club’s July Exhibit, “Chill Out,” a judged exhibition with monetary awards, will open on First Friday, July 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The show is open to all Virginia residents at least sixteen years old and accepts a variety of two and three- dimensional media including paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, and more. The theme of the show was open to interpretation by the participating artists, in accordance with the title’s suggestion of summertime, taking it easy, slowing down, enjoying life.

The judge, Jan-Willem Boer, was born in The Netherlands and studied art at the renowned Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam under some of the most influential artists of this era. He moved to the USA in 1982 and worked for many years as a commercial illustrator and graphic designer for more than a hundred clients in both the USA and Europe, winning awards for his outstanding work.
